I find that they seem to be dated a year behind. From what I know Toyota takes it's data from a few sources, and then confirms the data itself. I believe Tele Atlas has been purchased by TomTom. There were two manufacturers of maps that I knew of: Navteq and Tele Atlas. From my experience the different manufacturers have different 'theories' on how to produce a map update, as opposed to a software/firmware update. My GPS still hangs when I drive on roads not mapped, and some of these roads have been open for 2+ years. The bad news is that mine has the same 12.23 version shown in the video (and I'm pretty sure this was the version in the 2011). The good news is that I traded my 2011 Blue Lightshine for a 2013 Silver Brabus a few months ago. Well, I never could get my dealer to find an update. ![]()
